Description: One of the best trails to a peak over 2500 metres in height in our region. Spectacular views of the entire area. This trail is a continuation of the Crater Lake Trail. Only for hikers who are fit and prepared for high-altitude weather. This is a must-do trail for anyone capable. It's worth the work to hike even part of the ascent. Rough and rocky trail - good boots are best. Not suitable during winter months due to avalanche risk.

Road Conditions: All weather gravel   Trail Length: 2-1/2 hours
Directions: Turn off Highway 16, (west) on to King St. Go to Railway Ave and turn left (south) Cross the railroad tracks and continue on the Ski Hill Road for 24 km. Go to the last parking lot at the Green T lift. Walk up the hill on the left along the rough dirt road. You'll see the footpath bear left at the top of the hill. Just before Crater Lake, turn right up the hill to the ridge top. Bear left up the ridge to the summit.   Features: Excellent trail, steep but not too steep until the last 20 metres at the summit. Be careful, there are steep drop-offs on both sides of the peak and a sharp pitch. You can scramble up the pitch or go down to the left and back up to the small rock platform at the summit. There is a book chained to a rock to sign your name. Be especally careful if the rock is wet or snowy or if the wind is strong. Take extra clothing and a toque and be prepared for high winds, sleet and freezing temperatures, even on a hot summer day.

The last 10 metres to the summit are the tricky part
