View of Hudson Bay Mt and Lake Kathlyn
Location: See on Map NW
Rating:
Road Conditions: All-weather gravel road to the parking lot.   Trail Length: One hour up, 45 minutes down
Directions: Drive south on Highway 16 from Smithers and cross over the Bulkley River bridge. Turn left (east) on the Old Babine Road. Drive 4.8 km, then turn left on McCabe Road. Go 1.6 km, you'll see the parking lot on the left side of the road.   Features: Note the Juniper trees near the summit. There are scratch lines in the bedrock in the road below the summit. Rocks embedded in the bottom of glaciers formed the scratches about 12,000 years ago. Take a map, you'll want to identify all the landmarks you can see from the top. Best to leave your dogs at home - after all, it is private land.
Trail follows old road to the top of the hill. Relay towers are at the summit.
