What do you need to hike the trails
of north-central British Columbia?
|
|
Here's a handy check list
This is a typical list of items we take on every
hike on a remote trail. If you are hiking on
a trail in town or near town, of course, you may only
need a hat and a water container. The guiding principle
is to be prepared for any significant risk and still
keep the weight of your pack as light as possible.
The mylar space blanket and windproof clothing will
permit a person to survive being outdoors overnight
if lost or hurt.
Print this page and check the list as you prepare
for a hike.
To learn more about why you need the
following items,
go to the Hiking Hints
and Trail Hazards pages.
