Description: Large range of mountains with numerous trails. Suitable for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter - avoid avalanche slopes.

Type: Wilderness Area with rental cabin
Road Conditions: All-weather gravel  

Features: Glacial lakes, rugged peaks and extensive sub-alpine meadows. There are mountain goat, moose, marmot and many species of birds. The rental cabin can accommodate 12 people overnight and has a woodstove and firewood - a backcountry fee is payable in advance. Horse trails are designated. The main trail is suitable for mountain bikes.

Directions: 16 km east of Smithers. Drive south from Smithers for 4 km. Turn left (east) on Old Babine Lake Road. Follow the signs to Driftwood Canyon Provincial Park. The parking lot is 5 km northeast of Driftwood Canyon.
