|Road Conditions: Good gravel Forest
Service road. Not suitable for large RV vehicles. Best for use on
weekends and holidays to avoid logging truck traffic.
Trail Length: 3.69 kilometres from the parking
lot to the high point, but also an elevation gain of 1135 metres
(from 3200' to 6700'). About 1-1/2 hours to timberline and another
hours to the high point. About two hours down from the top.

|Directions: Follow the Ski Hill
signs from Highway 16 in Smithers. Set your odometer to zero at the
highway. At km 14.9 on Hudson Bay Road (Ski Hill Road) , turn left
onto the McDonnell Lake Forestry Road. Turn right at the 7009 kilometre
sign and drive 2.1 km up the steep hill to the parking lot. Follow
the flagging through the opening to the northwest to the next small
cutblock and then up the hill.

Located close to town with superb views in all directions. No water
the alpine so pack plenty. This trail is flagged and follows an old
path but is brushy in spots. This is the last easily negotiable
ridge on the west end of the back of Hudson Bay Mountain. The top
of the ridge tapers to a knife ridge with vertical drop to the west.

end of a mining road.
