Happy Anniversary Burns Lake
1998 is the 75th Anniversary of the Village of Burns Lake. A lot of local history took place south of Burns Lake, at Francois Lake and Ootsa Lake.
Hugh Neave knows a lot about that history.
McLean Hotel
The Jack McLean Hotel, 1922, was located where the Neave Store is today. It burned down in 1924.

Hugh has lived in the Francois Lake area since 1941. He and his family operate the Neave Store next to the Francois Lake ferry dock. He has heard the stories of the pioneers before he came to the country and he has met many of the people since 1941.
