| Meet June Moulton... | ...Burns Lake writer | ||

| June Fuller Moulton is a Burns Lake author of many childrens books. At first glance, she seems like just the nice lady next door. Once you talk to her though, you realize she has lead a very interesting life. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, June spent her high school years writing a column in a music magazine. As a young adult, she had little time for writing and spent many years teaching dance and piano. June married and moved to Anchorage, Alaska where four of her five children were born. |

| June had two children in school and one at home when she started writing again. Her children brought home a book about Alaska, and much of the information in it was wrong, which upset June. So her husband suggested she write a book of her own. |

The first kids story by June that was published was for Jack and Jill magazine in 1964. It was the first time she had ever submitted her writing to a publisher, so that was a major accomplishment. After that, June wrote short stories off and on, some were published and some were not. In the 1980's, June started recording her family's past adventures in Alaska and Burns Lake for her children.
