Turn rocks ...			...to lemonade

We've all heard the old saying "If life gives you lemons - make lemonade". Dave Konkin, of Burns Lake, has done just that with a piece of property full of rocks... he's made "lemonade". Dave has worked for seven years to transform his property. Now he has beautiful rock walls, islands and rock gardens, with more yet to be built.

As you pull into the Konkin driveway the first thing that stikes you is the beautiful rock wall on the left that leads you down toward the house. On the right is a rock island filled with perennials of all kinds and a back drop of native trees.

Dave landscaped a large part of his property with walls, perennials and shrubs. He used his dad's Cat to contour his property in preparation for the rock walls and used a pick and shovel to dig out hundreds of rocks which were in the wrong place. He stacked rocks along the banks he had prepared, and was able to finish his driveway in 3-4 months while losing 35 pounds to boot.
