Autobody art... ...in Burns Lake
Some artists work with stone, others work with oil paint. Cliff Stronstad, of Burns Lake, isn't a traditional artist, he works with sheet metal, fibreglas and automotive paint.
Cliff owns and operates Pluto Autobody Ltd. in Burns Lake. If you have a bent fender, Cliff will fix it for you but if you wander around his shop, you'll see half a dozen cars and trucks that don't look like the car or truck that gets you to work each morning.

Dave Webster's 1952 Ford show truck
Cliff builds custom cars and trucks, one-of-a-kind works of art.
A good example is a 1952 Ford pickup built for Dave Webster of New Hazelton.
Let's qualify that statement. It's not really a 1952 Ford anymore. The original truck inspired the design but Cliff's originality doesn't stop at stock parts.

the the rear deck of Dave Webster's truck
Cliff used the cab of the original Ford truck. He cut the top off and welded on a cab top from a 1950 Chevrolet truck to get the right look.
The front fenders and hood were replaced with a custom-built fibreglas front end. The original box was discarded and a new fibreglas one-piece box took it's place.
Cliff built a new frame to take the power of a 350 cubic inch Z28 engine with fuel injection.
