Example: a woman who weighs 180 pounds and stands 5' 5"

180 x 170 divided by

65 inches x 65 inches
= 30.04 Body Mass Index
If your Body Mass Index is between 26 and 26.9, you are
overweight.
If your BMI is 27 to 29.9, you are obese.
If your BMI is 30 to 39.9, you are severely obese and
if your BMI is over 40, you are extremely obese.
