Paul Glover took a walk in August
of 1999. He started from the back road near Cedarvale and
six days later, he arrived in Nass Camp. That's 55 km as
the crow flies, up and down over some of the most rugged
mountain terrain.
Midway on the trip, he had to bushwhack down over 3000
feet from alpine, cross the Kiteen river and then climb
back
up
more than 3000 feet through
dense
bush to alpine again. That crossing alone took one long
day.
No, there was
no trail to follow.
Paul hiked
alone
with all his food, clothing and shelter in his backpack
and a map and compass to guide him. |
