Walking is good for you. It works
your heart and lungs and tones the muscles in your back
and
stomach. After all, humans are designed to walk.
Over two
million years ago, our ancestors stopped swinging from
tree branches and started walking on two legs instead
of four. Since then, our feet, knees and hips have evolved
for walking and running.
Our stomach and intestines work
best
if we walk regularly. Our neck and head are specially adapted
to remain steady while jogging so that we can avoid
motion sickness.
