Does anyone know how to get rid of them??
They are out where the horses graze, so poisons
are not an option.
Thanks in advance.

I have bought Grazon from Glen Dale and it is safe for animals. I believe it kills all broad leafed plants including Buttercups.

Grazon works very well. I used it 2 years ago & it killed every buttercup, ragwort, horsetail, spurge & blackberry on the place!
They say one application is enough, but I found some return the next year, so I re-applied & that got everything.

Thanks!! I'll try the grazon - can a regular person buy it, or do you have to be a registered farmer? I did buy a weed dragon, but 5 1/2 acres of buttercups and tarweed is formidible....

It's all about the horses...

Will it not also kill alfalfa?

I wasn't asked for the farm number when I bought it in Abbotsford, but they may have declined that cuz I showed up in bib coveralls & rubber boots ... I'll loan 'em to ya!

I have the same problem with out-of-control buttercups. I tried weed whipping them last year because I couldn't buy graze-on. BIG mistake! They have spread even more. I have a friend who can buy graze-on so we went in to buy it together. We were told by their 'expert' that graze-on isn't that great at killing buttercups. Don't think that it was even on their kill list. Apparently it only kills them above ground level and the roots aren't killed. They will return. Makes sense because my friend has been using it for 6 years straight! He suggested Restore instead. It's just as safe for horses. It's a little more expensive but one application should be enough. Although another spray may be needed if they've seeded before spraying. I will give an update once I spray.

I bought Grazon about 3 years ago and did not require a farm # to purchase it. It comes in a big 10L jug and cost about $185. Will last me and my 5 acres a while.
